Education for Children with Multiple Disabilities

Занимания с децата с множество увреждания

Since 1995 the Louis Braille School for Visually Impaired provides instruction for children with multiple disabilities: moderate and severe mental retardation, central nervous system diseases, autism, deaf-blind children. These students are taken care of by highly skilled staff. Children are divided in small groups depending on age and disability. The major aim is achieving the best results within each student’s abilities. A team of specially trained teachers prepares an individual education plan for each child. The subjects included in the curriculum are language and communication, practical math skills to help students in real-life situations, the world around, music, adapted physical education. Daily living skills, tactile arts and art therapy, orientation and mobility, vision therapy are also included as additional subjects.
